Pompei ed Ercolano
Tour focused on the visit of the two main archaeological sites of the region: Pompeii and Herculaneum, the ancient Roman cities swept away by the eruption of Vesuvius in 79 AD. Considered of great importance to the Roman Empire, they were at their social and economic peak at the time of the disaster. The main difference between the two places is that Pompeii was a bustling city, a gateway to merchants and travellers, while the latter was more of a residential village for aristocrats and intellectuals.

Pompei
Pompeii is a vast archaeological site in the Campania region of southern Italy. Once a thriving and sophisticated Roman city, Pompeii was buried under meters of ash and pumice by the catastrophic eruption of Mount Vesuvius in AD 79. Not far from the coast of the Gulf of Naples, the ruins of this archaeological site can be freely explored by visitors.

Ercolano
The archaeological excavations of Ercolano have returned the remains of the ancient city of Ercolano, buried under a blanket of ashes, lapilli and mud during the eruption of Vesuvius in 79, together with Pompeii, Stabiae and Oplontis.
